Stories of Resilience Interviews
For far too long, the stories of Asian Americans have been ignored, pushed to the sidelines or given a backseat when discussing American history. The massacres that Asian immigrants faced after they’d just landed on American shores, the discrimination—explicit and implicit—through which they persevered and the new epidemic of hate that Asian Americans face are all integral parts of the American story and the American ethos. With our new project Asian American Stories of Resilience, we aim to uplift the backgrounds, lived experiences and personal narratives of Asian Americans of this and previous generations.
Asian American Stories of Resilience is an initiative dedicated to interviewing Americans of Asian descent and sharing with the world their experiences as Asian Americans, the barriers that they have faced and how they have overcome those challenges.
As we conduct interviews, articles will be posted on our online blog, and we will publish a book filled with these stories of resilience in the winter of 2023.
